Eli Tucker Arrives

Berkeley, Calif., Oct. 14 /TuckerNewswire/ --  Eli arrived Friday the 14^th at 8:45 pm—all digits and everything accounted for, cute, alert, calm little guy,  7 lbs, 7 oz and 21 inches.  He has some dark fuzz on his head and looks most like James.  Labor started at 4:30 am Thursday with regular contractions—lasting 40 hours, 15 minutes (all together)!  Pushed for 3 hours at the end before the doctor said let’s try the vacuum. After three tries that didn’t work, he used forceps, which worked right away; if they hadn’t, it would’ve been a c-section.  The problem seemed to be that Eli ended up positioning himself “sunny side up” (facing front instead of facing back), which made his descent way more problematic.  (Our doctor only uses forceps about twice a year, and most doctors don’t use them at all anymore due to the skill required and liability).  We just got home from the hospital and are all doing well.
